For broad employability, a common path is:
1. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (optional, foundational), then AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Developer – Associate. AWS has the largest market share, so it appears in the most remote job listings. 2. Azure (AZ-900 → AZ-204 for developers) is very valuable if you target companies on the Microsoft stack (.NET, Power BI, enterprise, many Canadian and French organizations). Microsoft regularly offers free exam vouchers through Learn challenges and events.
More important than the logo: - A certification gets you past filters; projects get you hired. Deploy a real app with IaC (Terraform or Bicep), CI/CD, a managed database and monitoring, and document it in your GitHub README. - Pick the cloud that matches the jobs you're applying to. Read 20 job posts in your target role and count.
